So, this whole average height thing in Mexico. It just kinda popped into my head the other day. No big reason, really. You know how thoughts just show up? That was it. Maybe I was channel surfing or something, who knows.
Anyway, I figured, “Might as well look it up.” Not like I was gonna do a PhD on it. Just a quick peek online. So I did that. Punched it into the search bar.
Here’s What I Dug Up
And what came back? For men, the number floating around was 1.70 meters. That’s, what, like 5 feet 7 inches if you’re not on the metric train. I saw that and went, “Alright then.”
It got me thinking, you know? You hear all sorts of stuff, or you imagine things. Then you see a number. Sometimes it lines up, sometimes it throws you off. This one? It felt… plausible. Didn’t shock me, let’s put it that way.
My Two Cents on It
Look, I haven’t exactly done a census across all of Mexico. But from the times I’ve been around, or folks I’ve met, that 1.70m didn’t seem like it was plucked from thin air. Averages are funny beasts anyway. You got your talls, your shorts, everyone in between. Always.
I even started thinking, practically. Me, I’m, well, let’s just say I started comparing it to my own height. So, if I’m there, am I looking up, down, or straight ahead most of the time? Dumb thought, maybe, but that’s how my brain works sometimes. It’s not about judging, just, I don’t know, picturing things.

- Thought just appears. Outta nowhere.
- Quick search. No fuss.
- Number shows up. Got it.
- Then just, you know, chewing on it for a bit. What does it actually mean to me?
This wasn’t some deep dive, man. Just me, being curious about a little fact. And then, well, thinking about that fact. Sometimes these little details about different places, they’re just interesting to have in your head. Gives you a slightly different angle on things, I guess. So, that’s my “big research” on average Mexican height. Pretty simple stuff, really. Just satisfying a bit of curiosity that bubbled up.
