Alright guys, today I finally tried making a Snapchat poll ’cause I keep seeing ’em in other people’s stories. Figured it was time to learn! Honestly thought it would be complicated, but turns out it’s kinda simple if you know where to tap. Here’s exactly what I did, step by step.
Starting Up the Snap
First thing I did was open Snapchat like always. I tapped the circle at the bottom to take a photo – just a quick selfie for testing. Didn’t need anything fancy. After taking the pic, I saw that little toolbar on the right side with all the icons. You know, the one with stickers and text stuff. Scrolled down real quick past the GIFs and emojis.
Finding the Poll Sticker
Kept scrolling down that toolbar until I saw the word “Poll” with a little percentage sign icon next to it. Tap that! Bam, it immediately slapped a poll sticker onto my picture with the pre-filled options “Yes” and “No”. Felt kinda basic though, so I obviously wanted to change the question.
- Editing the question: I just tapped right on the words “Ask something…” – the keyboard popped right up. I deleted the default text and typed my question: “Pineapple on pizza? Yay or Nay?”
- Changing the answers: Then I tapped on “Yes”, deleted it, typed “YAY 🙌”. Tapped “No”, deleted that, typed “NAY 😩”. Super easy.
Tweaking Things & Sending it Out
You can totally move that poll sticker anywhere on the picture. I dragged it to the bottom corner so it wasn’t blocking my face too much. Saw that little gear icon near the sticker – tapped it! It gave me options to let people see who voted or not. I left it showing voters; seemed more fun. Finally hit “Send To” like normal, picked “My Story,” and that was it. Live it went!
Watching the Votes Roll In
Checked back like an hour later by going to my own story and swiping up. Boom! There it was, showing me the percentage of YAY vs NAY votes and even the friends’ names under their choices. Actually works kinda bad – mine was leaning heavily towards YAY, which is clearly the right answer, haha!
So yeah, beginners, don’t stress it like I did. It literally took me longer to come up with a pizza question than to actually create the poll. Just tap the picture, find the Poll sticker, type your thing, and send it off. Done deal!
