I got a bunch of buddies, and we’re all super into football. Every year, we do this fantasy football thing, it’s a blast. But, you know, life gets in the way, and figuring out when to do the draft? Man, it’s like trying to herd cats.

So, I started thinking, there’s gotta be a better way to do this. I mean, we’re all online all the time, right? Why can’t we just figure this out together, without all the back-and-forth emails and texts?
I did some digging around, and I found out about these online polls. You know, the kind where you can vote on stuff? I figured, why not use one of those to figure out the best time for our fantasy draft?
So, I made this poll. It was pretty simple, really. I just listed out a bunch of dates and times that I thought might work, and then I sent the link to all my buddies. I told them, “Hey, vote on the times that work best for you.”
Setting it Up
- Picked a Platform: First, I found this website where you can make polls. It looked pretty easy to use, so I went with that.
- Created the Poll: I made a new poll and typed in the question, something like, “When should we do our fantasy draft?” Then I added all the options. I made sure to include a bunch of different days and times, you know, to give everyone a good choice.
- Sent it Out: After I made the poll, I got this link that I could share. I copied that and sent it out to everyone in our fantasy league. I used our group chat, so everyone would see it.
What Happened Next
- Voting Time: Everyone started voting. It was pretty cool to see the votes come in. You could see which times were getting the most votes, and which ones weren’t.
- Checking Results: I checked the results after a couple of days. It was pretty clear which times were the most popular. There were a couple of options that had a lot of votes, so we had some good choices.
- Made the Choice: Based on the poll, we picked the time that had the most votes. I sent out a message to everyone, letting them know the date and time of the draft.
And, wouldn’t you know it, it actually worked! Everyone voted, and we found a time that worked for most of us. There were a couple of guys who couldn’t make it, but that’s always gonna happen. Overall, it was way easier than trying to coordinate everything through emails or texts. We ended up with a time that most of us could make, and the draft went off without a hitch. It was way less stressful than previous years, I gotta say.
So, yeah, if you’re trying to figure out when to do your fantasy draft, I definitely recommend using an online poll. It’s a simple thing, but it makes a big difference. Plus, it’s kinda fun to see everyone’s votes come in. It’s like a little mini-competition before the real competition starts. Give it a try, you might be surprised how well it works.
