My Little Adventure with Setting Things Up
So, I was thinking about Wales Water the other day. Not like I was doing some big investigation into their pipes or anything, just… you know, they’re the water folks over there. If you live in Wales, you’re gonna deal with them, simple as that. My whole “practice” with them was pretty straightforward on the surface, or so I thought when I first got started.
I decided to move to Wales a while back. Seemed like a solid plan at the time. Get away from the city hustle, you know, fresh air, the whole bit. The real drama was everything else that was exploding around that simple task.
Eventually, I managed to find something new, work-wise. It took a fair bit of time and a lot of cheap instant noodles were consumed during that period, let me tell you. But that whole episode, man, it taught me a few hard lessons. Mostly about how quickly your circumstances can flip, and how little some big companies actually care when it comes down to it. My “practical experience” wasn’t about understanding water infrastructure management; it was about learning how to pick myself up and figure things out when the bottom drops out of your world. And it all kicked off because I decided to move house and had to make a few calls, one of which was to Wales Water.
