The Hunt Begins
Man, shiny Sprigatito had been messing with my head for days. I grabbed my Switch and a giant coffee, plopping down on the couch like “Alright buddy, time to settle this.” Figured outbreaks would be fastest, so I headed straight to South Province Area One.
Trying Outbreaks (And Swearing)
First mistake: I just rolled into the outbreak near the Pokémon Center, mashed R to auto-battle everything like some kinda rookie. Cleared like, sixty grass kitties? Nothing. Reset the outbreak location three times over. Zip. Nada. Just regular green cats staring back. Cursing under my breath started happening.
Picnic Reset Grind – The Slog
Gave up on outbreaks after two hours. Time for picnic resets. Hopped into the little picnic setup south of Cortondo. Made a Normal Encounter Power sandwich. Here’s where my sanity took a hit:
- Set up a picnic.
- Looked left for Sprigatito spawning nearby.
- See nothing but hoppy little Pawmi.
- Close picnic.
- Repeat.
- And repeat again.
- Seriously, repeat like two hundred more times.
My eyes felt fried. My thumb ached. Damn game kept spawning Skwovets and Yungoos right on top of me. One time a Tauros charged me mid-sandwich. Glared at that Switch screen so hard.
Switching Spots – Tagtree Thicket Gamble
Heard whispers about Tagtree Thicket working better. Took a break, ate actual food, grumbled to my dog about stubborn digital cats. Went back in fresh near the riverbank section of the Thicket. Made another Normal sandwich. Reset picnic. Reset picnic. RESET PICNIC…
Then it happened. Saw a pale cream leg poking out from behind a tree on maybe the 300th reset? Heart jumped into my throat. Slowly crept around the tree… and there she was! Whole body this soft minty green color with those super pink eyes just staring! Shiny Sprigatito! Yelled so loud my neighbor probably thought I murdered someone. Paralyzed her fast before she ran, chucked a Luxury Ball. CLICK. Gotcha.
What Actually Worked For Me
- Location matters: Tagtree Thicket near riverbanks felt WAY denser than South Province Area One. More spawn points near where you stand.
- Picnic resets are brutal but work: Way better results than outbreaks for this starter. Maybe odds or spawn behavior?
- Encounter Power Lvl 3 Normal: Absolutely mandatory. Boosts grass types significantly. More spawns = more chances.
- Patience + caffeine: Strap in. It’s a mindless grind. Hide anything throwable near you.
Honestly? Getting that shiny felt like getting punched by a ghost Pokémon. Half agony, half relief. Worth the headache though. That minty weirdo’s snoozing in my box now, looking super smug while my thumb still twitches. Would I do it again? Probably. Ask me tomorrow.
