Alright, so I got curious the other day about who’s been finding the net the most in the French league, you know, Ligue 1. It just popped into my head while I was reading some football news.

First thing I did, naturally, was grab my laptop. Opened it up, waited for it to boot – takes its sweet time sometimes. Then I just launched my web browser, the one I always use.
Went straight to the search engine. Didn’t overthink it, just typed in something basic like ‘ligue 1 highest goal scorer’ or maybe it was ‘top scorer ligue 1 2023-24’. Something along those lines, gotta be specific enough about the season.
Sifting Through the Results
Hit Enter and bam, loads of results came up, as you’d expect. Lots of sports sites, news articles, betting sites – the usual mix. Some looked promising, others looked like clickbait garbage. You know how it is.
I skipped the ads, obviously. Then I started clicking on a couple of the links that seemed more legit. Maybe a big sports network or a site purely focused on football stats. I tend to trust those more.
- Clicked the first one. It had an article, but I had to scroll way down past a lot of waffle to find the actual list.
- Tried another. This one was better, more like a stats table. Clearer layout.
The key thing was checking if the list was up-to-date. Some sites are slow to update, showing last week’s numbers or even last season’s if you’re not careful. Looked for a date on the page or checked if the matchday info seemed current.

Finding the Info
Found a table that looked right. It had the player names, their clubs, and the number of goals scored. Pretty straightforward once I landed on the right page.
So I just scanned down the list, looking at the top name. Confirmed the number of goals next to his name. Job done. Didn’t take too long once I filtered out the noise. Just needed to find a reliable source amongst all the search results.
That was basically it. Just a quick search, a bit of clicking around, and verifying the info seemed current. Now I know who’s leading the pack over there in France.
