So, I’ve been getting into fixing up my own car lately, and I kept hearing about Blue-Point tools. I needed some new wrenches, and I was wondering if I should invest in some. The big question for me was, “who actually makes these things?”

Digging for Answers
My first step, like always, was to hit up the internet. I started searching for “who owns Blue Point tools” and found some forum posts and articles.
I found out that Blue-Point isn’t some small, independent company. Nope, it is owned by Snap-On. I guess I could have put two and two together, and at least expected them to be related.
The Interesting Part
What surprised me, though, was what I read next. Apparently, even though Snap-On owns Blue-Point, they don’t actually manufacture the tools in the Snap-On factories. Instead, they have other companies make them.
- It’s like a secret identity! The tools are Blue-Point branded, not Snap-On.
- Made in the USA: I also learned they are designed and made in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which is good.
My Final Decision
It seems that Blue-Point is kind of like Snap-On’s more budget-friendly line, a sibling company. They’re still quality tools, made in the USA, and supported by Snap-On’s reputation. Knowing all of that, I went ahead and order a starter set of Blue-Point wrenches, and I am happy with them. It fit what I was willing to spend at this stage in my DIY mechanic journey.
