Alright, so the other day, the topic of the big National Championship game popped up. You know how it is, folks talking about the highlights, the big plays. And then someone asked, “Hey, who actually got the MVP award for that one?”

Honestly, I didn’t know off the top of my head. My memory’s not what it used to be for specific awards right after a game. So, I figured, simple enough, let me just check it out.
I pulled out my phone, opened up a search. My first try was just typing in “national championship game mvp”. Pretty straightforward, right? Well, kinda. I got a mix of stuff back. Some results were for basketball, some for football, and even different years.
Getting Specific
Okay, that wasn’t quite right. Need to be more specific. I remembered we were talking about the recent college football championship. So, I tweaked my search. Put in something like “CFP national championship game mvp 2024”. That did the trick.
The results were much clearer then. Popped right up.
- Saw the name mentioned on several sports sites.
- Confirmed the team he played for.
- Noticed mentions of both offensive and defensive MVPs sometimes.
So, for the offensive side in that January 2024 game, the guy was Blake Corum, the running back from Michigan. Seemed like he had a solid game, scored a couple of touchdowns in the final quarter I think. Made sense he’d get the nod.

There was also a defensive MVP named, Will Johnson, also from Michigan. Good for him too, defense wins championships, they say.
So yeah, that was my little journey to figure it out. Just needed to narrow down the search a bit to get the exact info for the right game and year. Easy peasy once I specified college football and the year.
