Why I even bothered
My old garden bench foundation cracked after one winter – looked like someone dropped a bowling ball on it. Regular concrete just crumbled like stale bread. This time I wanted something that’d survive my clumsy kids and stupid weather.
The messy mixing part
I dumped that powdery stuff into a bucket like I was making pancake batter. Added water slow while stirring with a stick – gotta be careful not to make soup. The texture got weirdly sticky fast, thicker than normal concrete mix. Had to really muscle that shovel around. My arms were burning after five minutes, felt like stirring wet rocks.
Pouring the disaster
Slapped that gloop into the wooden mold I’d nailed together. Had to slam the sides with a hammer to get air bubbles out – sounded like banging on a trash can. The mix settled weirdly smooth compared to regular concrete. Pro tip: work fast cause this stuff sets up quicker than you’d think. Almost got my shovel stuck in there!
The waiting game
Next morning I poked it expecting soft spots. Nope. Felt like poking a brick wall. After 48 hours I kicked it – hard. My toe regretted it. No cracks, no dents, nothing. Even dropped my toolbox on it accidentally – toolbox lost that fight.
So does it actually work better?

Weeks later after rain and freezing nights? Still no cracks. Normal concrete would’ve given up already. My dumb kids jumping on it haven’t destroyed it yet either. Didn’t believe the hype till I got my hands dirty. This stuff’s staying in my garage for every project now.
