WWE Crime Time: Reliving the Crazy Antics of the Tag Team.

Okay, so, about this whole “WWE Cryme Tyme” thing. Let me tell you, it’s a trip down memory lane. I remember these guys, JTG and Shad Gaspard, they were something else.

I first saw them years ago, I was just a kid back then, you know? They came out, all swagger, like they owned the place. They called themselves “Cryme Tyme”, and man, they played up those street tough characters to the max. It was a bit much, but hey, that was wrestling back then.

I started digging around, trying to remember all the details. These two, they were a tag team in WWE. Now, WWE, they love their gimmicks, right? And Cryme Tyme, they were a gimmick all right. Total parody of those stereotypical street thugs you see in movies.

They started getting pretty popular. I did watch a few of their matches. They even had a feud with some other tag team… “The World’s Greatest Tag Team,” they were called. Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, I think. Good matches, if I remember right. They would get these crazy ideas, and would try them out in the ring.

My Memory Is A Little Fuzzy

  • But they wrestled on SmackDown, I’m pretty sure of that.
  • And for a while, they were the best in the game.
  • They really left a mark on the WWE, you know?

Now, WWE back then, they had some wild tag teams. There was that Billy and Chuck duo, and those guys pretending to be from Mexico, calling themselves the “Mexicools,” and the French guys, “La Resistance.” WWE was really into these tag team gimmicks back in the day, for some strange reason.

I also found out they eventually split up around 2010. That was a bummer. But then, get this, they got back together in 2014! They kept wrestling until… well, until Shad passed away. That was in May 2020, right? Really sad news.

Honestly, looking back, Cryme Tyme, they were a product of their time. Maybe a little over the top, maybe a little controversial, but they were definitely entertaining. They were part of that whole crazy WWE world, and they made their mark. It was wild ride, that’s for sure. It was fun while it lasted, you know?
